Le Digger vs Le Bandit: Two Hacksaw Slot Games, 17 Points Compared
In short: Le Digger is a newer Hacksaw Gaming slot than Le Bandit, from the same "Le" series. It raises Le Bandit's 10,000x ceiling to 15,000x, digs through layers for its coins and adds a Bonus Gamble that Le Bandit does not have.
Same studio, same raccoon, same 6 by 5 cluster grid. The two games part ways on the ceiling, the route to the coins and the length of the bonuses. They also differ by one screen: only Le Digger has a Bonus Gamble, and its odds never reach that screen.
The splash screen lights three volatility bars of five and promises a max win of 15 000 times the bet (client 1.33.0, studio demo). Source: our own screenshot.

Alternatives in Detail
Why look for a replacement: Le Digger's Bonus Gamble shows equal tiles, while its game server weights the Tomb Service outcomes from 22.6% to 28.775%.
Its default return, 96.26%, is 0.08 points below Le Bandit's 96.34%.
Its three bonuses all start at 10 spins. Two of Le Bandit's start at 12.
Its French-language rules keep two of the five max-win sentences and drop the warning that the game discards remaining free spins at the ceiling.
Le Bandit
Le Bandit is an older Hacksaw Gaming slot from the same "Le" series, on the same 6 by 5 cluster grid. It suits a player who wants bonuses that start at 12 spins on 4 and 5 scatters and no blind choice, at a lower ceiling.
Better than Le Digger
Prints a 96.34% default return, 0.08 points above Le Digger's 96.26%
Starts two of its three bonuses at 12 free spins, against 10 at the start of each of Le Digger's
Goes straight from the trigger to the spins, with no Gamble board in between
Its studio page names all four builds, the lowest at 88.36%, 2.15 points above Le Digger's lowest catalogue build
Weaker
Tops out at 10,000x, a third lower than Le Digger's 15,000x
Its top hat pays at most 100x, half the lantern's 200x
Its clovers stop at 10x and only touch adjacent cells
Its client caps the bet at €100.00, against €2,000.00 in Le Digger's demo
15,000x Against 10,000x
Le Digger's ceiling is 15,000x the bet. That is 1.5 times Le Bandit's 10,000x. Each figure comes straight from the game's own client. At a €2.00 bet that is €30,000.00 against €20,000.00.
The odds of reaching it stay unpublished on both: each game server answers oddsOfMaxWin with "0", a placeholder.
The French-language rules of Le Digger carry a gap here. The client's English file holds 470 strings and the French one 469, the missing key being a max-win text written for one other market only. Among the strings both files share, only the max-win section of the rules loses sentences in French: five in English, two in French. The client does translate the max-win message itself. A reader of the French rules misses the warning that hitting the ceiling ends the round at once, discarding any free spins still to come.
How Le Digger Reaches Its Coins
Le Digger reaches its coins by digging: a win removes its symbols plus one layer of the grid, and a position cleared down to Layer 3 turns gold. Once the grid settles, that position reveals a coin, clover or Collector. Le Bandit's client describes Super Cascade and Golden Squares that a Rainbow symbol activates instead.
The base grid at a €2.00 demo bet: card ranks, lanterns, fossils, binoculars and a helmet on stone tiles, with Smokey holding dynamite. Source: our own screenshot.
Dynamite is the second shovel. Smokey can throw 1 to 5 sticks after a spin, each clearing a 2x2 square. A stick that hits a Wild Dynamite blows a 3x3 square. Le Bandit's client lists nothing like it.
The coin tables overlap more than they differ. Both games' rules name 500x as the top coin value. Le Digger splits the top end into Gold at 20x to 50x and Diamond at 100x to 500x. Le Bandit's gold coin alone runs from 25x to 500x.
The Bonus Gamble Le Bandit Lacks
Le Bandit lacks the Bonus Gamble that Le Digger offers after 3 or 4 FS scatters. It is a choice between the bonus, ten spins to start, and a pick from a board of tiles. The board looks fair: four tiles of one size after Tomb Service, eight after Dig It.
The Dig It Gamble shows eight tiles, one diamond, four gold, two silver and one FS upgrade, with no odds printed on the board. Source: our own screenshot.
The game server says otherwise. On the Tomb Service board the upgrade to Dig It comes up 28.775% of the time and the bronze prize 22.6%. Four equal tiles would suggest 25% each. Climbing from Tomb Service to Gold Digger through two Gambles works out at 3.6%.
The rules print what this does to the return. For a bonus won in the base game it reads 96.26% never gambling, 96.28% gambling once, 96.27% gambling twice. On a bought Dig It, gambling once takes it from 96.33% to 96.23%. So the Gamble is mostly a variance switch, worth a tenth of a point at most. The client's terms state that a drawn device represents no real one. Our two tries paid €20.00 on a €160.00 Tomb Service, then €60.00 on a €500.00 Dig It.

Ten Spins to Start, or Eight and Twelve
Le Digger starts every bonus at 10 free spins; Le Bandit starts at 8 in Luck of the Bandit and at 12 in its two bigger bonuses. Retriggers match on paper: 2 more FS add 2 spins, 3 add 4. In Le Digger, though, they apply in Tomb Service and Gold Digger only. Dig It replaces them with a Blast Bar that adds 5 spins at 85, 100, then 115 removed symbols.
Tomb Service asks for a choice before the first spin: CONTINUE with ten free spins, or GAMBLE (studio demo, 2 November). Source: our own screenshot.
Both games keep the five-scatter bonus off the shop shelf. Gold Digger throws 5 sticks of dynamite every spin; Treasure at the End of the Rainbow guarantees a Rainbow on every spin.
Where Le Digger Falls Short
Le Digger falls short of Le Bandit in three places: the Gamble's hidden weights, a lower default return and lower buy returns.
The Gamble board looks like even odds; the real weights appear only in the server's data.
Its default return trails Le Bandit's by 0.08 points. Its catalogue builds also go lower, down to 86.21%.
Its buy returns, never gambling, sit at or below Le Bandit's on all four buys: 96.33% for Dig It against 96.4% for All That Glitters Is Gold.
We do not recommend Le Digger to a player who does not want a choice whose odds the screen hides. Le Bandit has no such choice, though it publishes no hit rate or max-win odds either.
Our Pick, by Player
Our pick depends on the player: Le Digger for the highest ceiling, 15,000x against 10,000x, with a lantern that pays twice the top hat.
For bonuses that start at 12 spins on 4 and 5 scatters and no hidden-weight choice, Le Bandit, with a 96.34% default return; its 3-scatter bonus starts at 8 spins against Le Digger's 10.
For money play, check first that online slots are lawful where you live; the answer depends on your country, not on either game.
If none of these settles it, try both studio demos for a hundred spins each and see which grid you enjoy. Expect those spins to say little about either return. Ours came back at 98.8% on €200.00 staked, a figure the 96.26% model explains as luck.
